Star Trek Into Darkness Teaser Trailer

A teaser trailer has arrived for next year’s Star Trek sequel and it’s left me feeling a bit, well, underwhelmed.  I’m not a big Star Trek fan although I did love J.J. Abrams 2009 reboot and I am a little bit in love with Karl Urban’s uber grumpy Bones.  This trailer has been very very influenced by Marvel’s Avengers – the charismatic English bad-guy, the chaos, the exploding cities and the heroes looking lost.  Where are the space ships flying through the skies? And why is Mr Spock the most alien looking creature in the trailer? In a summer that contains Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Man of Steel, World War Z and The Wolverine, Star Trek is going to have to up its game if it wants to stand out from the crowd.
