I’m going to have to revisit both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, I enjoyed both but neither excited me particularly. They were a little serious for me. I like my superheroes to be a bit more amusing.
The trailer for The Dark Knight Rises though could change my mind in a hurry. Released this morning it has whipped fan-boys into a frenzy of excitement. And I’ll admit it – it’s piqued my interest more than a little. Gotham City is under attack (beautifully designed attack) and there appears to be no hope. Can Batman save the day?
Tom Hardy’s Bane seems like a brilliantly mad bad guy and I’m intrigued by Anne Hathaway’s Selina Kyle/Catwoman. It’s all fairly ambiguous as to whether she is good or bad. I’m not sure how Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s involvement managed to pass me by but his appearance in the trailer raised my interest even further.
